A remarkable recent example of sustainable architecture is the Edge, a futuristic office building in Amsterdam. Known as the world's most sustainable office building, the Edge incorporates cutting-edge technologies to minimise energy consumption and maximise efficiency. It features solar panels, rainwater harvesting systems, smart LED lighting, and advanced climate control systems, all managed by a sophisticated digital infrastructure. The Edge serves as a beacon of sustainable design, demonstrating the possibilities of integrating technology and architecture to create buildings that tread lightly on the planet.

People often assume sustainability is solely about environmental conservation, but it's much more. It also involves social responsibility, economic viability, and long-term resilience, creating a new set of criteria for construction professionals to tailor to. According to the World Green Building Council, buildings and construction contribute to 39% of global carbon emissions. Implementing green building strategies can significantly lower this impact. By handling waste disposal ourselves during and after every project, we can ensure all materials that can be recycled are, and monitor the amount of any general waste so that we can look into reducing it.
